Description
This is a live-edge slab cutting board, “Slab,” made from a single slab of black locust. Black locust is a great wood for cutting boards thanks to its hardness. It’s the second-hardest American domestic hardwood, next to hickory. It also has anti-microbial properties. This board is long enough for daily utility cutting, though not large enough for a turkey or ham. It’s been shaped to retain its live edge and character, including a great color contrast between the sapwood and the heartwood. Ripsaw marks on the back side are almost reminiscent of a pine forest.
Wine bottle for scale.
